Travel Together. Raise Support. Create Impact.

Turn group travel into a meaningful experience built around your organization, your supporters, and your cause.

Cruising for Causes helps qualified nonprofits, schools, ministries, associations, community organizations, and other mission-driven groups develop cruise experiences that bring supporters together while creating opportunities to raise support, increase awareness, strengthen relationships, and advance an approved purpose.

You bring the mission and the community. Cruising for Causes helps build the journey around them.

Fundraiser Cruise

What Is a Fundraiser Cruise?

A Vacation With a Greater Purpose

A Fundraiser Cruise combines the experience of group travel with opportunities for an organization to engage supporters around its mission and an approved fundraising purpose.

Raise Support

Advance the Cause

Create approved fundraising opportunities connected to a clearly defined organizational purpose.

Engage

Bring Supporters Closer

Give donors, members, volunteers, families, and supporters an opportunity to spend meaningful time together.

Community

Strengthen Relationships

Turn travelers into a community connected not only by a destination, but also by a shared purpose.

Awareness

Tell the Story

Use the experience to introduce people to the organization's mission, programs, accomplishments, and future goals.

Who Can Build a Fundraiser Cruise?

Built for Mission-Driven Organizations

The program can be adapted to many types of qualified organizations and causes.

Nonprofits & Foundations

Organizations seeking new ways to engage donors, volunteers, members, and community supporters.

Schools & Education

Schools, alumni groups, scholarship programs, educational organizations, and other education-focused initiatives.

Faith-Based Organizations

Churches, ministries, and qualified faith-based organizations supporting outreach, service, education, or community initiatives.

Community Organizations

Civic organizations, neighborhood initiatives, youth organizations, cultural groups, and community-service programs.

Associations & Groups

Professional, membership, alumni, affinity, and other organized groups with an established purpose and supporter base.

Cause-Based Initiatives

Qualified campaigns and programs focused on an established charitable, educational, cultural, wellness, or community purpose.

Program Eligibility: Participation is subject to Cruising for Causes review, program requirements, applicable travel and fundraising rules, and the suitability of the proposed purpose.

How a Fundraiser Cruise Works

From Cause to Impact

The public process is intentionally simple. Cruising for Causes manages the travel-program framework while the participating organization remains focused on its mission and community.

1
Choose the Cause Identify the organization and approved fundraising purpose.
2
Build the Cruise Develop a travel experience appropriate for the group and its supporters.
3
Invite the Community Engage members, supporters, donors, families, friends, and sponsors.
4
Travel Together Combine the vacation with meaningful organization-specific experiences.
5
Create Impact Carry the engagement and mission beyond the sailing.

Your Cause Stays at the Center

Your Mission. Your Purpose.

The Cruise Supports the Mission - It Does Not Replace It

The participating organization identifies why it wants to raise support and the approved purpose it wants the experience to advance. Cruising for Causes then helps develop the travel program around that objective.

A school may focus on scholarships. A community organization may support youth programs. A ministry may support outreach. A nonprofit may build awareness and support around an established program.

The organization remains responsible for its mission. Cruising for Causes provides the travel-program framework that helps bring people together around it.

More Than Fundraising

Build an Experience Around the Organization

The cruise creates opportunities for engagement that are difficult to reproduce at a traditional one-night fundraiser.

Welcome Events

Bring the group together and introduce the purpose of the experience.

Group Dining

Create opportunities for supporters, leadership, families, and guests to connect.

Mission Storytelling

Share the organization's work, accomplishments, people, and future goals.

Recognition

Recognize volunteers, supporters, leaders, honorees, sponsors, or community contributors.

Education

Include appropriate workshops, discussions, presentations, or informational programming.

Networking

Create relationships among supporters, community leaders, professionals, and partners.

Fundraising Activities

Incorporate approved fundraising activities where permitted and appropriate.

Celebration

Make room for entertainment, destinations, excursions, relaxation, and the vacation itself.

All onboard activities are subject to cruise-line policies, available facilities, applicable laws, and the approved structure of the individual program.

Fundraising Through the Four Pillars

Community & Service

Serve

Connect organizations, supporters, volunteers, and community partners around meaningful service and impact.

Culture & Heritage

Preserve

Create experiences that recognize culture, history, heritage, identity, and the stories communities carry forward.

Education & Opportunity

Build

Support initiatives involving education, scholarships, mentorship, entrepreneurship, training, and opportunity.

Health & Wellness

Strengthen

Create appropriate opportunities for wellness education, awareness, restoration, connection, and community support.

A participating organization does not have to address all four pillars. The applicable pillar or pillars depend on the organization's mission and the approved purpose of its Fundraiser Cruise.

One Experience. Multiple Benefits.

For the Participating Organization

Strengthen Your Community

A Fundraiser Cruise may help an organization:

Raise support for an approved purpose; deepen supporter relationships; increase awareness; recognize donors and volunteers; engage sponsors; strengthen membership; create new community relationships; and potentially establish a recurring signature fundraising experience.

For Cruising for Causes

Strengthen the Mission

The program helps CFC expand community partnerships, education, volunteer engagement, mission-driven travel, sponsorship opportunities, and charitable initiatives.

A portion of proceeds attributable to Cruising for Causes travel programs may support CFC programs, operations, and charitable initiatives consistent with the organization's mission.

From the Ship Back Into the Community

The Impact Should Not End at the Port

A Fundraiser Cruise can become the centerpiece of a larger year-round effort rather than an isolated vacation.

Before

Engage

Community outreach, sponsor engagement, service projects, educational activities, and campaign awareness can begin before sailing.

During

Connect

Use the shared experience to strengthen relationships and deepen understanding of the cause.

After

Continue

Bring travelers back into volunteer opportunities, programs, community events, and continued organizational engagement.

Long-Term

Build

Successful experiences can help organizations develop recurring relationships, supporters, sponsors, and future fundraising traditions.

Travelers Receive a Real Travel Experience

Travel With Purpose

Supporters Are Travelers, Too

Fundraiser Cruise participants are not simply making a contribution. They are participating in a travel experience that may include cruise accommodations, dining, entertainment, destinations, shipboard amenities, group activities, and organization-specific programming.

The cause gives travelers another reason to participate. It does not eliminate the value of the vacation they are purchasing.

This distinction is essential to the Cruising for Causes approach: create an experience people want to attend while giving the journey a greater purpose.

Fundraising and Travel Are Not the Same Thing

Clear Purpose. Clear Payments. Clear Expectations.

Transparency is essential whenever travel and fundraising are part of the same program.

Travel

Travel Payments

Payments associated with cruise fare, taxes, fees, travel services, booking components, or other travel-related costs are travel transactions and should be represented as such.

Fundraising

Contributions & Support

Donations, fundraising proceeds, sponsorships, and other forms of charitable or organizational support must be clearly identified and handled according to the applicable program structure.

Tax & Contribution Notice: Participation in a Fundraiser Cruise does not make the entire cost of travel a charitable contribution or automatically make cruise payments tax-deductible. Any charitable contribution, deductible amount, receipt, or tax treatment depends on the specific transaction, participating organization, program structure, and applicable law. Participants should consult their own tax professional regarding individual tax matters.

We Build It Together

Cruising for Causes

Travel & Program Framework

CFC helps with travel-program development, cruise planning, group coordination, reservation structure, cruise-line coordination, program guidance, participant experience, and approved fundraising integration.

Participating Organization

Mission & Community

The organization brings its mission, approved fundraising purpose, leadership participation, community engagement, supporter recruitment, promotion within its network, organization-specific programming, and required organizational information.

You Do Not Need to Become a Travel Professional: Participating organizations can remain focused on their mission and supporters while the authorized travel operation handles the travel infrastructure. Organizations are not expected to independently manage cruise reservations or become travel agencies in order to participate.

Sponsors Can Help Multiply the Impact

Community & Corporate Support

Bring More Partners Into the Mission

Qualified sponsors may help support approved programming, participant experiences, scholarships, recognition activities, community projects, educational initiatives, or other components connected to a Fundraiser Cruise.

Sponsorship also creates opportunities for businesses and community partners to build meaningful relationships with the people and organizations they support.

Build More Than a One-Time Fundraiser

A Fundraiser Cruise Can Become a Tradition

Organizations do not have to approach the experience as a single event. A well-developed program may become an annual, biennial, or recurring signature experience that supporters recognize and anticipate.

Over time, the cruise can become another way the organization maintains relationships, celebrates accomplishments, welcomes new supporters, recognizes its community, and continues advancing its mission.

Is a Fundraiser Cruise Right for Your Organization?

Clear Purpose

Your organization can clearly explain its mission and what it wants the fundraising experience to support.

Active Leadership

Organizational leadership is willing to participate in planning, communication, promotion, and supporter engagement.

Community

You have members, supporters, alumni, donors, families, clients, volunteers, or another community you can realistically invite.

Realistic Expectations

You understand that successful group travel requires recruitment, communication, planning, and sufficient participant interest.

Transparency

Your organization is willing to follow established payment, marketing, fundraising, documentation, and program procedures.

Long-Term Vision

You are interested in creating a meaningful supporter experience rather than simply looking for a quick fundraising transaction.

Travel Can Do More

A Different Kind of Fundraiser

Give People a Reason to Go - And Something Meaningful to Bring Home

People already travel together. They celebrate together. They vacation together. They support organizations and causes they care about.

A Fundraiser Cruise brings those experiences together.

The vacation creates the gathering. The cause creates the purpose. The relationships created along the way can help the impact continue long after everyone returns home.

Travel With Purpose. Create Impact That Lasts.

Turn the Journey Into Something More

Whether you travel with us, support a cause, partner with our organization, or explore the Cruising for Causes Method, every connection can become part of a larger impact.
