Cruising for Causes is developing a network of travel professionals committed to responsible client service, professional development, ethical business practices, accountability, and purpose-driven travel. Individuals interested in working with us must successfully complete our application, screening, training, assessment, and onboarding requirements.
Becoming a travel advisor requires more than a love of travel. Advisors are responsible for serving clients, learning supplier systems, maintaining accurate records, following established procedures, communicating professionally, developing business, completing ongoing education, and taking responsibility for their professional performance.
We are looking for individuals who want to learn, are prepared to work, understand the importance of accountability, and are willing to operate within established professional, privacy, supplier, security, and organizational standards.
Applicants must be prepared to meet baseline eligibility, technology, professional-conduct, screening, and training requirements before receiving authorization to perform advisor functions.
Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.
Applicants must be able to provide valid government-issued identification and complete required identity verification.
Applicants must be legally eligible to work or conduct business in the United States as applicable to the relationship offered.
Applicants must maintain reliable telephone, email, internet, and computer access suitable for required reservation, supplier, training, and communication systems.
Applicants must be able to communicate appropriately and professionally with travelers, suppliers, partners, organizations, and CFC personnel.
Candidates must be willing and able to complete required training, assessments, onboarding, and continuing education.
Applicants must be prepared to protect traveler, reservation, organizational, and proprietary information.
Advisors must comply with applicable CFC, host-agency, supplier, cruise-line, privacy, security, professional-conduct, and operational requirements.
Travel advisors may eventually be entrusted with traveler information, reservations, supplier systems, booking records, and other sensitive information. Candidates who advance in the selection process may therefore be required to successfully complete identity, background, professional, and other appropriate screening before onboarding.
Selected candidates may be required to verify their identity using government-issued identification and other approved verification procedures.
Candidates who reach the appropriate stage of the selection process may be required to complete a background screening through a CFC-approved screening provider or verification process.
Where permitted by law and relevant to the responsibilities of the relationship, selected candidates may be required to authorize an appropriate consumer report through an approved process.
Selected applicants may be required to provide professional or business references capable of verifying relevant experience, reliability, professionalism, or business conduct.
Applicants with previous travel-industry experience may be asked to disclose prior agency, host-agency, supplier, cruise-line, or other relevant professional affiliations.
When applicable, candidates may be required to verify business entities, industry credentials, professional affiliations, licenses, or other information represented during the application process.
Selection is about finding individuals with the professionalism, initiative, character, reliability, and commitment necessary to serve travelers responsibly and represent the organization well.
Candidates move through a staged selection process. Advancement from one stage does not guarantee advancement to the next. Screening is generally requested only after an applicant has progressed through the initial review process.
Submit your experience, qualifications, goals, affiliations, and required disclosures for initial consideration.
The application is reviewed for baseline qualifications, completeness, and potential fit.
Selected applicants may participate in an interview to discuss expectations, experience, goals, and professional fit.
Candidates selected to continue receive instructions for required verification and screening.
Complete applicable identity, background, reference, professional, and other authorized verification.
Candidates who continue must successfully complete required internal advisor training and onboarding education.
Demonstrate appropriate understanding of procedures, systems, customer service, security, and professional responsibilities.
Approved candidates complete final onboarding and receive only the system access appropriate to their authorized role.
Candidates selected to continue through the advisor onboarding process must successfully complete required internal advisor training before receiving authorization to independently perform designated advisor functions.
Completing an application or beginning training does not create automatic access to traveler records, reservations, supplier systems, or operational platforms. Access is granted according to authorization, completed training, and demonstrated responsibility.
Application and selection process only. No operational, reservation, traveler, or supplier-system access.
Participates in required internal training, assessments, and onboarding activities. Access remains limited to what is necessary for training.
Receives authorized access appropriate to assigned advisor functions after completing applicable approval, training, and onboarding requirements.
Additional authorization may be granted after specialized training and approval for areas such as fundraiser cruises, major groups, or designated CFC programs.
Previous travel-industry experience may be considered during the application and training process. However, previous experience does not automatically waive required identity verification, screening, professional-conduct requirements, CFC policies, privacy requirements, security requirements, internal training, or onboarding standards.
Experienced applicants should be prepared to disclose relevant current and previous travel-agency, host-agency, supplier, cruise-line, or other travel-industry affiliations. Additional information may be requested when necessary to identify potential conflicts, clarify professional history, or verify information provided in the application.
Successful travel advising requires continued learning, customer service, communication, relationship development, follow-up, organization, and consistent professional effort.
CFC may provide applicable training, resources, procedures, standards, support, and access associated with the advisor relationship, but advisors are expected to actively perform the work necessary to develop clients, serve travelers, maintain professional relationships, complete required education, and meet applicable professional responsibilities.
No representation is made regarding the amount of business, bookings, commissions, clients, or income an advisor may generate.
Applications are reviewed individually. Information relevant to the responsibilities of the advisor relationship may be considered subject to applicable law, organizational requirements, and authorized screening procedures.
Materially false, misleading, incomplete, or intentionally concealed information may affect eligibility.
Candidates must be able to satisfactorily complete applicable identity-verification requirements.
Relevant professional, supplier, host-agency, or industry history may be reviewed when appropriate and lawful.
Applicants may be required to disclose existing and prior agency, host-agency, supplier, or travel-industry relationships.
Candidates must successfully complete required internal training, assessments, and onboarding standards.
Conduct during the application and onboarding process may be considered when evaluating readiness for an advisor relationship.
By submitting an advisor application, applicants will be required to certify that the information they provide is complete and accurate and acknowledge that submitting an application does not guarantee acceptance.
Applicants may also be required, at the appropriate stage, to provide authorization for verification of application information and for applicable identity, background, reference, professional, or consumer-report screening.
Any authorization legally required for a consumer report or other regulated screening will be handled through the appropriate separate disclosure and authorization process.
Review the requirements carefully before applying. We are looking for individuals who are prepared to learn, serve travelers professionally, develop their business, follow established procedures, protect confidential information, and represent our standards responsibly.
